General Programs
Free Exhibition Tours
Gallery staff and Guides can provide free exhibition tours for your students, at a time convenient to you. Exhibition tours examine visual art elements, concepts and a variety of media. Tours include small focus groups examining art works up close.
Allow 45-60 minutes for students to complete exhibition tours.
Educational Package Tours
Package Tours combine ‘appreciating art’ activities with ‘art making’. These are available for all Mosman Art Gallery exhibitions.
In addition a wide variety of fun and educational package tours are available for students K-6 aimed at introducing a variety of visual art concepts. Using art works from the collection students explore concepts such as still-life, portraits and basic colour and design elements. Techniques used by artists, compositional elements and subject matter are all discussed. This is followed by a fun art making activity. Package tours include small focus groups examining art works up close.
There is a fee of $8.00 per student to cover the costs of art materials.
Allow 90 minutes for students to complete Package tours, with art making activity.
Teacher guided tours
Education Kits and Worksheets are provided with key exhibitions for self guided tours. Teachers are also welcome to use the Gallery as a resource for students’ self directed learning activities, 10-5pm daily. Students are welcome to use the Gallery drawing boards and stools, with prior arrangement.
