2012 marks the 70th anniversary of an event that would leave an indelible mark on Australia’s history: the entry of three Japanese midget submarines into Sydney Harbour and the surprise attack that followed.

Join Ruth McGeechan as she explores the extraordinary circumstances surrounding this important event and shares anecdotes from those who remembered.

At the conclusion of the presentation, the Mosman Art Gallery Guides will conduct a tour of Attack: Japanese midget submarines in Sydney Harbour, a series of powerful and evocative new paintings by Mosman artist, Ken Done. Done has been commissioned by Mosman Art Gallery to interpret and respond to this remarkable historical event.
