The formation of the Mosman Art Society is part of the rich artistic heritage of Mosman which extends back to the artists camps at Balmoral and Sirius Cove of the late 1800s.

Established in 1995, the Mosman Art Society now has over 180 members and includes professional artists, amateur artists, students and those who just love and appreciate art.

The Patron of the Society is Paul Delprat, the Principal of the Julian Ashton Art School which was established as the Sydney Art School in 1890.

The Mosman Art Society produces two to three exhibitions annually. In order to support and encourage local artists, the Mosman Art Gallery has been exhibiting the work of Society members every few years. Paintings in the current exhibition include a variety of subject matter including landscapes, portraits and still lifes.

The Mosman Art Gallery Guides will present a free exhibition tour on Saturday 3rd December, 11am.
