Nalda Searles Loitering At The Dance Hall 2008

Nalda Searles is a living icon of Western Australian art.

For close to thirty years she has been an innovator in the use of native fibres and found objects from the environment for the production of fibre-textiles, sculptures and installation artworks.

Nalda Searles: Drifting in my own land showcases 21 works created by Searles that draw on her own life, memories of her parents and the experiences of numerous women she has known through her artwork research.

The exhibition is a powerful expression of identity in relation to landscape.

Nalda Searles – Drifting in my Own Land is proudly presented by Nalda Searles. The national tour of this exhibition is managed by ART ON THE MOVE. This exhibition is supported by Visions of Australia, an Australian Government program supporting touring exhibitions by providing funding assistance for the development and touring of cultural material across Australia.
