“This painting originates from a brief encounter rather than direct observation. One evening, after leaving a pet store in Dural, the artist was unexpectedly struck by the final rays of sunset filtering through the roadside trees along Old Northern Road. Although he photographed the scene, the images failed to convey the atmosphere and emotional resonance of the experience.
The painting therefore does not reconstruct a place with documentary accuracy, but instead attempts to recover a remembered sensation through colour, gesture, and spatial ambiguity. Within this familiar, constructed environment, a fleeting transformation of light momentarily dissolved the ordinary, revealing a fragile balance between permanence and transience, observation and memory, and the structured world and the unpredictable rhythms of nature.”
