Art Lecture Series: Michael Mossman

Join us, on Thursday 18 June from 10am, in the Grand Hall for part 2 of our new Art Lecture series with Associate Professor Michael Mossman.

For this presentation​, Michael will share his story, the future-focused propositions for the Indigenous Knowledge Place, his current role as Chief Investigator on the ARC project Indigenising the Built Environment in Australia research project, and his experiences as co-creative director for the Home exhibition at the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale Australia Pavilion.

Associate Professor Michael Mossman is a Kuku Yalanji man, born and raised in Cairns on Gimuy Walabara Yidinji Country. He now lives and works on Gadigal land as Associate Dean Indigenous, lecturer, and researcher at the University of Sydney School of Architecture, Design and Planning, where he leads the strategic initiative Indigenous Knowledge Place. His work explores Indigenous knowledge systems in the built environment, cultural heritage, and Country through design, teaching, and collaborative creative practice, championing First Nations cultures as agents for change.
