Strike a pose: Drawing the costumed figure with artist Ann Cape

In this workshop led by prominent artist Ann Cape, participants will work with a costumed model to create drawings which reveal character and narrative.

Throughout her life, Hilda Rix Nicholas created magnificent studies of French peasants, elaborately robed and elegant women and period and exotic costumed figures – often devising and making the various garments for her sitters. In this workshop led by prominent artist Ann Cape, participants will work with a costumed model to create drawings which reveal character and narrative.
Students should have some experience with figure drawing.

Cost: $95/$85 Friends of Mosman Art Gallery. Includes morning tea.

• A board and clips
• Willow charcoal (fine and medium)
• Compressed charcoal
• Charcoal pencil or Woolf Carbon 4B and 6B
• Coloured pastels and inks optional.
