Join Mosman Art Gallery for a special event hosted by ABC TV’s Hannah Gadsby, art lady, writer and comedian, in a Forum which celebrates Australian women artists by highlighting the diversity, energy and innovation of three important visual artists Lucy Culliton, Del Kathryn Barton and Cressida Campbell, who are recognised as inspirational and influential leaders within Australia’s contemporary visual arts. The artists will discuss their artistic approaches, creative paths and their shared and varied experiences. In addition, the issues they face as artists and the elements that have shaped their artistic development, to their current standing as some of the most important and active of Australian artists today.

Hannah Gadsby comes to Mosman Art Gallery fresh from her outstanding season at the 2014 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She is an award-winning Australian comedian who thinks quickly and moves slowly. She is sardonic, laconic and, after numerous bone crunching accidents, bionic. Known for her droll delivery, delightful wordplay and heart-breakingly funny, self-deprecating observations, she continues to delight audiences all over the world. With a degree in Art History from the Australian National University, Hannah has a keen interest in Australian contemporary visual
arts.

Lucy Culliton is an Australian artist who lives and works in Bibbenluke, NSW. She graduated from the National Art School in 1996. Winning the Mosman Art Prize in 2000 was an important career milestone for Culliton who has since enjoyed a meteoric career ascendancy with twelve solo exhibitions and exhibiting regularly in group exhibitions. She is represented in several public collections and numerous private collections. Represented by The Hughes Gallery, Sydney.
Del Kathryn Barton is an Australian artist who lives and works in Sydney. She graduated from the College of Fine Arts of the University of New South Wales in 1993. In 2008 and 2013 Barton won the Archibald Prize and her work is held in numerous public collections including the Gallery of Modern Art (Brisbane), Museum of Old and New Art (Hobart), Art Gallery of New South Wales (Sydney), Art Gallery of South Australia (Adelaide) and National Gallery of Australia (Canberra). Cressida Campbell is an Australian artist who lives and works in Sydney. She graduated from East Sydney Technical College in 1979 and Yoshida Hanga Academy, Tokyo in 1980. She has had twenty five solo exhibitions in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and London and has contributed to numerous group exhibitions. A Mosman Art Prize winner in 1989, her work has been acquired by major museum collections in Australia and internationally and she has been awarded several important art awards.
