Ken Done is well known as a painter of Sydney Harbour and is highly respected in both Australia and Japan.
With the forthcoming 70th Anniversary of the Japanese attack on Sydney Harbour, 31 May – 1 June 1942, these important historical events have provided the artist with the inspiration to produce a culturally sensitive body of work exploring themes of empire, self-sacrifice, death, destruction and honour.
