Join us for a unique opportunity to participate in a special art making experience and collaborate in the development of a new, large scale sculptural installation artwork featuring the internationally acclaimed contemporary artists, Alfredo Juan Aquilizan and Isabel Gaudinez-Aquilizan.

Mosman Art Gallery is thrilled to announce that Alfredo and Isabel Aquilizan will conduct a special event , a one-off public workshop in which participants will meet the artists and learn more about their practice, while participating in the development of a new, large scale sculptural installation artwork with the Aquilizans at Mosman Art Gallery.

Alfredo and Isabel Aquilizan are Filipino born contemporary artists who are husband and wife, parents and artist-collaborators. They are internationally known for creating works which embrace the themes of home and family, while drawing on their personal experiences of migrating from the Philippines to Australia.  Their new artwork The Boat: Project Another Country will be a participative project which engages with the local community, schools and children to consider ideas about migration, refugees, journeys, displacement and settlement. Using recycled materials and assemblage, participants are invited to collaborate and to assist in the making of this exciting new work artwork.

The Aquilizans will be the key feature of an important forthcoming group exhibition project, Halo Halo Bayanhihan Philippines Art Project at Mosman Art Gallery in July - September 2017.
