Ervin Gallery, have worked together in partnership with curator Lou Klepac to host an exhibition which showcases iconic artworks by nine major Australian artists all responding to the theme of Sydney as a destination for creative endeavours.

The city of Sydney has long been a point of focus and convergence for many artists born in other parts of Australia.

In a unique collaboration, the three major Sydney independent public galleries, Manly Art Gallery, Mosman Art Gallery and the National Trust’s S. H. Ervin Gallery, have worked together in partnership with curator Lou Klepac to host an exhibition which showcases iconic artworks by nine major Australian artists all responding to the theme of Sydney as a destination for creative endeavours.

The artists featured at Mosman Art Gallery are Kevin Connor, Peter Kingston and John Olsen. Artists at S.H. Ervin are Cressida Campbell, Grace Cossington Smith and Margaret Preston. Artists at Manly Art Gallery are Elisabeth Cummings, Lloyd Rees and Brett Whiteley.

Destination Sydney will be a celebration of the important influence Sydney and its magnificent harbour have had on some of Australia’s greatest painters.
