The Cube: Amrita Hepi
In May, artist Amrita Hepi brings episode two of her video work Scripture for a Smokescreen.
Amrita Hepi repositions ideals of human communication to mine an experience of transference with animals. Shot in two different zoos using available phone equipment, Amrita considers captivity, as a choreographer and vessel, and how zoos are agents of socialization inextricably linked to mass communication. This alternative approach looks at adjacent technologies, how they implicate us in mass archiving of colonial monuments.
