This exhibition presents Tom Roberts’ Curlew Camp, Sirius Cove, Mosman Bay (1898), offering a glimpse into Mosman’s rich artistic history and its significance in the development of Australian Impressionism. The work has been generously loaned to the Mosman Art Collection from the Collection of Gregory Woolley, Tasmania.
Located on the shores of Sirius Cove, Curlew Camp was home to some of Australia’s most celebrated artists, including Tom Roberts and Arthur Streeton, who captured the distinctive light and landscape of Sydney Harbour.
Accompanying the painting is a selection of historical photographs from the Jean Rubensohn Archive, alongside recently bequeathed correspondence relating to Curlew Camp, offering further insight into the lives of the artists and the history of this significant site.
