Paul Williams is an award winning local artist who paints in a contemporary style influenced by Abstract Expressionism.

The subject of the work Melanie’s Garden, is a small garden behind Paul’s house. He used to spend many pleasant hours working there in the company of his daughter Melanie, who now lives in Argentina.

The underlying narrative in this work is the expression of the artist’s feelings for this part of his home which now evokes his daughter’s absence.
