Over the past ten years Linda Klarfeld’s name has become synonymous with the production of bronze portrait sculptures in Australia. Eight years in development, Linda took her inspiration for the busts created for Icons of Business, from the titans of private enterprise – all leaders in their chosen areas of business with an interest in horses and horseracing as the common theme. Subjects include prominent racing identity Gai Waterhouse, John Symond founder of Aussie Home Loans, media personality Alan Jones, Gerry Harvey owner of a chain of retail businesses, advertising and business mogul John Singleton , Rod Menzies of Menzies International and Catherine Harris of Harris Farm markets. This exhibition of busts celebrates the achievements of these individuals through the company they keep when viewed as a whole, together they form a fitting tribute to the entrepreneur and public figure.
Also included in the exhibition is a life sized horse constructed wholly from the branches of a felled tree. This marvellous creature will form the centrepoint of the exhibition.
