Capitalist Boobs Stay Connected is inspired by the social pressures and persuasions of language drawn from self-help, advertising, shopping, wellness, and motivational trends in consumer culture. Anna Hoyle loves painting imaginative, humorous extensions of these words, along with their related objects, slogans, and mantras.
She loves the rich flatness of gouache, and tends to paint in a graphic manner, but she also enjoys intuitively glooping colours together, resulting in a saccharine, sicky, “too much” kind of look, akin to a colourful plasticky $2 shop.
