Dogma, Desire and Departure expands upon a distinctive visual language drawn from the tradition of historical hunting scenes and symbolic objects, woven together through expressive painterly gestures. These objects appear untethered from conventional space and time, forming poetic constellations of meaning that unfold through association rather than narrative.
The painting presents an opportunity to navigate ideas surrounding the trivialisation of violence and the relationships between reality and imagination, presence and absence.
