
“This painting, from my science series, uses a complementary colour palette and explores the vocabulary of post-painterly abstraction to imagine a supernova, which, according to some scientists, is one of the most extreme events in our evolving universe.
Alternatively, the subject could also be a cool amoeba living in a Petri dish during a laboratory experiment. Here, the two are surprisingly similar in shape. After all, aren’t they made of the same fundamental particles? And aren’t they both only observable through sophisticated technology?”
