PHOTOGRAPHY AT BALMORAL BEACH

Be inspired by the famous photographs of iconic Australian photographers, Anne Zahalka and Max Dupain as fine art photographer, Caroline McLean-Foldes returns to guide you in the art of portrait photography.

Have fun as you step into the role of both model and photographer whist seeking to replicate famous photographic images such as The Bathers by Anne Zahalka and Sunbaker by Max Dupain. You are encouraged to view images of these artworks (available on line) in preparation for this workshop. Portraits can be printed at home. Caroline has a Master of Documentary Photography.

What to bring:

  • A fully charged digital camera with an empty memory card
  • Sun screen & hat, beach related props such as beach ball, bucket and spade, goggles & snorkel, flippers, inflatable device, kickboard, compact boogie board, beach towel, beach wear

Important information:

  • 1:15pm – Meet at the Rotunda, Balmoral
  • 3:30pm – Collect your child from Mosman Art Gallery
  • It is essential that parents/care-givers sign in their children at the Rotunda, Balmoral and notify Janelle Patchett, Public Programs Officer, Mosman Art Gallery if your child has any health related concerns
  • Photography will take place on the sand & children will not be permitted to enter the water
  • Transport from Balmoral to Mosman Art Gallery: The Mosman Rider
  • In the event of inclement weather, a photography workshop will take place at the Mosman Art Gallery. If you are unsure of weather conditions on the day, please contact Janelle for an update

Art Attack!!

Art Attack aims to introduce children to a variety of art media in fun and creative ways.

Workshops are targeted at a range of ages and abilities and aim to give children a positive experience in the visual arts. By looking at examples of art, discussion, demonstrations and hands on making, children are introduced to new skills and concepts in each workshop.
