Join Judith Blackall, National Art School Curator and Gallery Manager, as she discusses the current exhibition, Ann Thomson and contemporaries. Ann Thomson is a Sydney-based artist with a distinguished career spanning more than six decades.
Also, on display is work from a significant group of Australian artists, who either studied or taught at the School with Thomson, including John Passmore, John Olsen and Elisabeth Cummings.
After morning tea in the School’s Café, Deborah Beck, Historian and Archivist will lead a tour of the National Art School’s Archive and Collection which was officially unveiled in April 2015. There are over 4000 items dating back to 1760 in this collection. This includes works of art on paper, paintings, prints, sculptures, archival material as well as artefacts relating to the history of the site as a Gaol.
