Rosemary Dobson, acknowledged as one of Australia’s greatest poets, recorded eight of her poems during the 1970s for Poets on Record. Varied in subject and mood, they veer between nostalgia and defiance, elation and despair. She speaks for women, but she is also universal. The poems are read alongside music that reflects aspects of the poem, with works from the 16th to the 21st century by Bach, Vivaldi, and Australians Elena Kats-Chernin, May Howlett and others.
Performers include Leonie Cambage (reader), Shaun Ng (viola da gamba, lute, theorbo) and Diana Weston (harpsichord).
