Come and see the John Brack lithographs currently on show.
Brack had a long fascination with the human figure. This display features a selection of seven pages from the 1982 limited edition artist book published by Lyre Bird Press. Art historian Margaret Plant observed ‘from Brack’s earliest paintings of the female nude from the late 1950’s we have become accustomed to the angular poses, the harsh light, the Spartan setting and the unrepentant outline. It is the Persian rugs and the pushti that are the principal stars of this suite of lithographs, while ostensibly the female figure appears as the subject.’
